SUMMARY:The Dave Fleschner Trio In Store at Music Millenium
DESCRIPTION:The Dave Fleschner Trio at Music Millenium:\nSaturday\, May 3 \n4:00 – 5:00 PM \nhttps://musicmillennium.com/ \nTICKETS for the Vinyl Release Party on May 4! \nhttps://the1905.turntabletickets.com/shows/6684/?date=2025-05-04 \n\n\n\n\nDave’s Finally Releasing a Vinyl Record – “Deep Cuts”. It’s a re-release of The Dave Fleschner Trio CD “Creepin’ Up” with previously unreleased tracks. \n\nDave Fleschner on Hammond B-3 Organ\nDan Gildea on Guitar\nCharlie Doggett on Drums\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrder Here…\n\n\n◦ Very inventive and swingin’ – Mike Finnigan \n◦ Dave is . . killin’ it on there. The songs are great! – Curtis Salgado \n\nDave\, Dan and Charlie have been making music together off and on for decades. This trio begins with the vehicles for improvisation – a range of original tunes from Dave’s catalogue\, as well as a variety of jazz classics. Well versed in the old school organ trio tradition of Jimmy Smith\, Jack McDuff\, Groove Holmes and Don Padderson\, the Dave Fleschner trio has a modern approach to this canon\, drawing inspiration from artists as varied as Herbie Hancock and Ornette Coleman. You’ll find funk\, soul\, blues and world music influences in their special blend of groove-based improvisation. \nFaced with the prospect of printing more CD’s after selling out of the initial run of the album “Creepin’ Up\,” Dave decided instead to release a re-mastered vinyl set including previously unreleased tracks – thus the “Deep Cuts” title. The purchase of this record includes a retrospective of compositions in a digital download folder. You will get digital versions of this album as well as tracks from my other Dave Fleschner Trio albums featuring Billy Hagen\, Dan Gildea\, Ken Ollis and John Bollinger. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou will also find tracks of other organ trios I’ve played with including tunes I wrote for the groups “Zuppa” with A.G. Donnaloia and Anthony Jones\, and “The Euge Organ Trio\,” with Teddy Pressburg and Tom “Euge” Goichachea. There are also charts\, should you want to play these tunes yourself\, or follow along. \nI am so fortunate to be able to share this compilation with you and so grateful to hear the results of deep musical friendships and lasting musical connections.

SUMMARY:The Bundy Band at HōKū
DESCRIPTION:  \nTICKETS! \nDoors at 6:00 P.M. \n1 Ticket – Two sets\, starting at 6:30 and 8:00 \n$15 if you buy before May 8. \n$20 at the door. \nUnderage seating available\, please indicated when purchasing tickets. \nThe Bundy Band plays music inspired by New Orleans and the Pacific Northwest. It features many musicians who have been playing together in various formations for nearly 3 decades. You might catch us on a night up on the hill playing the jazz. Or a guest might come by and steer us down a path of John Prine songs. Any style of music is fair game: New Orleans trad jazz\, second line brass band tunes\, funk\, standards\, original songs about Humanzees and Han Solo\, or even covers from artists like Charles Wright\, The Band\, or Phish. Sometimes Fleschner lights an infinite cosmic fire with his organ. Sometimes Savage tears the fabric of space time with his flute. Sometimes Bundy even plugs his clarinet into a bunch of pedals and breaks your mind. If we get it right\, the music goes somewhere really special\, and we all go along for the ride. \nHoku has delicious food and a full bar. \n \nTICKETS! \nLink to The Whole Series! \n

He’s a relentless road dog\, hitting festival stages\, Delbert’s annual Sandy Beaches Cruises (he’s been a regular on six winter cruises)\, and clubs all across the land to enthusiastic crowds who can’t get enough of his swampy blues\, his backporch picking\, his serious-as-anthrax funk\, soul\, roadhouse two-beats\, and old-school rhythm and blues (back before the R&B tag was somehow appropriated for other musical purposes\, apparently when we weren’t looking). I stay involved every chance I get\, from rehearsing to performing on their sets to inviting the band to open for us on stage. The Blues Foundation honored Hammerman with the Keeping The Blues Alive award\, saying\, “Barbara is an example to emulate.” Gresham received Back What You Believe\, Best Northwest Event and six Anthem Awards for her purpose and mission-driven work.  Barbara and Amanda inspire others to act through their leadership in the life-changing efforts of United By Music America. The United By Music Band arises from this remarkable\, inclusive program. \nAward-winning Music Director\, Dave Fleschner\, has collaborated closely with Gresham for over ten years\, refining the sound of the band. Known for his work as a band-leader\, educator and producer\, Fleschner says he’s never been more spiritually fulfilled than when working with United By Music America. \nAccording to Hammerman\, “The strength of a mission-based project is that everyone is engaged on some level at some time in the goal of inclusivity and encouraging everyone to rise to their highest level through music.” Prominent musicians who are active mentors for United By Music America include Bobby Rush\, Shemekia Copeland\, Kenny Neal\, Curtis Salgado\, Doug MacLeod\, Janiva Magness\, John Nemeth\, Guy Davis\, Maria Muldaur\, Anne Harris and scores more\, as well as the artists on the newly released United By Music Band EP\, We’ve Got The Music. \nUnited By Music America Program Ambassador Artist\, Sweet Marlana\, is known for wowing packed stadiums with her spine-tingling rendition of the National Anthem at major sporting events. She credits the program with providing her with some critical firsts. Thanks to United By Music America\, VanHoose boarded her first plane\, toured destinations far and wide\, and worked and recorded with a top-flight band featuring well-known musicians. Now she has a full repertoire of songs to sing for her growing audiences\, and says with a smile\, “Because of United By Music America\, I’m no longer a one-hit wonder.” \nOn the majestic\, life-affirming five-song EP\, We’ve Got The Music\, the United By Music Band is joined by professional musicians and program mentors including GRAMMY-winner Christone “Kingfish” Ingram\, blues-rocker Tommy Castro\, Southern Avenue drummer and vocalist Tikyra “T.K.” Jackson\, New Orleans’ vocal and songwriting legend John Boutté and funky rhythm master Curley Taylor\, leader of Zydeco Trouble.  Each track features a song by the mentor musician who collaborates with the United By Music Band on a sparkling new arrangement. The dynamic\, top-shelf musicianship of all involved elevates the positive messages of inclusion\, cooperation and understanding\, with the artists all delivering one memorable performance after another. \nThe songs on We’ve Got The Music are in the UBMA Band’s current repertoire. UBMA artists are excited to have had the chance to record and collaborate with their mentors. The music throughout is joyous\, life-affirming and eminently danceable. (As a bonus\, there is a sixth track\, a longer version of the new UBMA Band arrangement of Kingfish’s Listen\, to close the program.) \nThe release of We’ve Got The Music tells the uplifting story of UBMA’s work challenging assumptions both on and off stage. Through workshops\, rehearsals\, and performances\, UBMA discovers new talents and creates an environment of inclusivity. Originally formed upon the invitation of Joris vanWijngaarden\, a Dutch health care industry executive who started the concept in the Netherlands\, UBMA continues to serve more people by transforming lives with hope and promise. \nGresham\, the program’s producing artistic director and vocal arranger\, and producer of We’ve Got The Music\, says excitedly\, “Not only do I get to guide the artists’ growth as musicians\, I get to see them grow as people. They get to explore friendships\, communicate\, and experience connections. Through the program\, the artists become more comfortable and confident in their ability to perform. This album is a direct result of the success of the program\,
