Latin to Funk and everything between
Their latest musical offering is called “Sabroso”, meaning flavorful in Spanish. Sabroso starts where Toque Libre left off…the next chapter. Dance floors will move and groove to the sophisticated Latin rhythms and steady funky soul pulse of Sabroso.
Sabroso features some of Portland’s most well known and talented musicians. The band’s rhythmic foundation is brought to you by Pablo Ojeda on bass/vocals (Rubberneck, Toque Libre, Geoff Byrd), Ward “The Warden” Griffiths (Fred Strickley, King Beta, The Quadraphones, The Gravy) on drums/percussion, and Carl “Hands of fire” Smith (Crazy eights, Rubberneck, Toque Libre) on percussion.
The horn section showcases the incredible talent of Levis on trumpet. Adding to the depth of talent is the hook laden piano styling of Dave Fleschner (Curtis Salgado, Earl Thomas, John Nemeth, Mel Brown, B.B. King) on piano. Last but not least, is Ricardo Ojeda on guitar/vocals. Sabroso is guaranteed to please Portland’s most discerning music lovers.
